Why this matters offshore
Thandi is a qualified electrician from Secunda. She sees an advert for "offshore electrician, Angola, 28/28" posted by a company she has never heard of. Is that company an oil company? A drilling contractor? A labour agency? Is the job on a platform, a drillship or a supply vessel? Each answer changes which certificates she needs, who pays for them, how long she would be away and whether the advert is even real. People who understand how the industry is organised ask better questions, apply to the right companies and are much harder to scam. That is what this module gives you.
