How it works

From questionnaire to published documents in an afternoon

Compliance work is usually sold as a project. This is not one. You answer questions about your own business, and the documents that satisfy the Act come out the other side.

You answer the questionnaire

Roughly fifteen minutes. It asks for your registered and trading names, your address, who the Information Officer is, the categories of personal information you hold, why you hold each one, who you share it with, and how long you keep it. Everything is saved as you go, so you can stop and come back.

Every question is about your business. None of them require you to have read the Act.

The documents compile

Your answers are merged into the PAIA manual and the privacy policy, and both are rendered as PDFs. It takes under a minute. They are published at a stable web address that nobody can guess but anyone you send it to can open — which is what PAIA section 51(3) is asking for when it says the manual must be available.

The banner goes on your website

On WordPress, install one plugin and paste one line. On anything else, add that same line before the closing body tag. From that point the banner appears, and known tracking scripts are held until the visitor allows their category.

You do not have to find your tracking tags or edit them. It reads the finished page and recognises them.

Consent starts accumulating

Every choice a visitor makes is written to your consent log — what they allowed, what they refused, when, and against which version of your policy. Each entry is sealed against the one before it, so a later edit is detectable.

It keeps up with you

Move premises, appoint a new Information Officer, start collecting something new — update your answers and the documents regenerate against them. When the templates change on our side, yours are rebuilt too.

What the banner actually does

A consent banner that appears but does not stop anything is worse than none — it documents that you asked, and that you ignored the answer.

Tags are held, not merely asked about

Recognised analytics and advertising scripts are neutralised before the browser can run them, and released only for the categories a visitor has allowed. Around forty vendors are recognised by name, and anything unfamiliar is left alone rather than guessed at.

English, Afrikaans and isiZulu

The banner chooses from the page language, then the visitor's browser. Consent given through words somebody does not properly understand is weak consent, and the Act cares about that.

Withdrawal is honoured properly

A visitor can reopen their choices at any time from a permanent control. Turn a category off after its tags have already run and the page reloads clean, with that category's cookies expired.

It never breaks your site

If the rewriting cannot be done safely on some page, the page is served exactly as it was. A broken checkout is a worse outcome than an ungated tag, so it fails in the direction that keeps you trading — and tells you it did.

What we do not do

We are not a law firm and this is not legal advice. The software generates documents from the answers you give it. For an opinion on your particular circumstances — a dispute, an investigation, an unusual structure — you want an attorney, and we will happily say so rather than pretend otherwise.

Take the founding rate
